Fine-strand multi-filament filter cloths are used to overcome this disadvantage by capturing very fine particle sizes while also providing strength, wear resistance, and longevity. Filter Cloth Specification
Cloth size is usually determined by the width of the filter press plate and is measured in millimeters or meters. A filter press cloth, for example, could be 800mm, 1500mm, or 2m long. These short fibers have a large surface area and a low tensile strength. The cake release of staple fabric is poor, but the particle retention is excellent.
Filter Clothes Composition
Filter clothes are made of various materials and shapes to meet the needs of buyers. They are used in distilleries, dairies, slaughterhouses, paper and pulp mills, sugar refineries, food processing plants, and other industries. Monofilament yarn is produced by single and continuous extrusion of synthetic resin. It has good cake release, is resistant to blinding, and has a low particle collection efficiency. Vinylon filter cloth for filter press is suitable for caustic conditions due to its high alkali resistance.
The basic characteristic of this weave is that the weaving points are not continuous. Many warp or weft threads are floating on the cloth surface, making dust stripping easier. Satin weave has fewer weaving points than plain and twill weave and has better air permeability, but there are more yarns floating on the fabric surface, which is easily damaged.
What Is Needled Felts?
Needled felts are made by using a fiber locking machine to mechanically bond layers of staple fibers to a base cloth. This construction is more efficient than woven fabrics because it has lower pressure drops and higher flow rates. Felt fabrics are generally thicker and heavier than woven fabrics for dust collection. Short fibers that have been twisted and spun into yarns and woven into fabrics have the advantage of being a very permeable yarn. Filtration occurs both through the yarn and through the interweave spaces. As a result, higher flow rates with maximum solid retention can be obtained.
