What other sizes of 14 series staples are commonly used in carpentry?

A few other common sizes of 14 series staples used in carpentry include:

1/2″ staples

Used for many general purpose tasks like attaching roofing felt, wall sheathing, insulation, etc. A widely used all-purpose size.

3/4″ staples

Slightly longer leg makes them suitable for applications requiring deeper penetration like decking, subflooring, siding.

1″ staples

Provide maximum holding power and are typically used for thicker/denser materials like trim, molding, fascia boards.

1-1/4″ staples

Occasionally needed when joining extra thick lumber or for specialty siding applications.

15/16″ staples

Fill the gap between standard 1/2″ and 3/4″ sizes for slightly thicker than average materials.

1-1/2″ staples

Used primarily in pneumatic staplers for fastening thick shingles, industrial applications. Rarely needed manually.

So in summary, 1/2″, 3/4″ and 1″ are the most widely stocked manual 14-gauge crown staple sizes. Longer lengths up to 1-1/4″ provide versatility while shorter ones down to 1/4″ exist for thinner jobs.
